Sparky Anderson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000. He was named American League Manager of the Year in 1984 and 1987. His No. 10 is retired by the Cincinnati Reds and No. 11 is retired by the Detroit Tigers. Approximately 8” x 6” x 1” wooden base with a plaque that rests on it. The bronze plaque has a bust of Anderson with text below that reads, “GEORGE LEE ANDERSON - “SPARKY” - CINCINNATI, N.L., 1970-1978 - DETROIT, A.L., 1979-1995 - ONE OF THE GAME’S MOST SUCCESSFUL AND COLORFUL MANAGERS, HIS 2,194 WINS RANK THIRD IN HISTORY BEHIND CONNIE MACK AND JOHN MCGRAW.
